Ingredients
- 750 g plain flour
- 450 g butter
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 8 tbsp caster sugar (for sweet) or 2 tbsp salt (for savoury)
Method
- Grate the butter into the flour and baking powder.
- Sprinkle in the sugar (or salt for savoury).
- Add the beaten eggs and mix to form a dough.
- Let rest for 30 minutes, then roll out and shape by hand into small pastry cups.
- Bake at 160–180°C for 10–15 minutes, watching closely as they brown quickly.
- Cool completely. These can also be frozen for later use.
