Savoury Fillings for Pastry Cups
Hartige Vulsels vir Deegdoppies
These little pastry party cups always brought a sense of excitement into the kitchen — tiny shells waiting to be filled with whatever delicious mixture your mum decided on that day. She'd line them up on a tray like soldiers, each one ready for its own spoonful of something savoury and comforting. Whether it was creamy chicken, curried mince, or a cheesy vegetable mix, she worked quickly, tasting as she went, adjusting the seasoning with that quiet confidence she carried. As the cups baked, the fillings bubbled gently and the pastry turned crisp and golden, sending out a warm, buttery aroma that made everyone hover nearby. They came out looking dainty but tasting bold — perfect little bites that disappeared faster than she could refill the tray.
