Sosatie Steak Rolle
BBQ Sosatie Steak Rolle always felt like something a bit playful. Thin strips of meat rolled up with that sweet spicy sosatie marinade, pinned with toothpicks, and left to soak until the colour deepened and the smell filled the kitchen. When they hit the pan or the braai, they sizzled with that unmistakable sosatie sweetness, the edges caramelising just enough to make everyone wander closer to the fire. They were small, tidy, and packed with flavour — the sort of thing that disappeared faster than she could plate them.
Ingredients
- 12 thin steak slices
- 3 tbsp wholegrain mustard
- Salt, a little thyme and black pepper
- Skewers
- *Dipping sauce:**
- 150 ml mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp plain yogurt
- 2 tsp mustard
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
Method
- Spread the steaks with wholegrain mustard and season with salt, thyme and pepper. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Roll each steak slice and skewer onto sosatie/BBQ sticks.
- Grill on the braai (BBQ) until cooked and nicely browned.
- Mix the dipping sauce ingredients together and serve alongside the sosaties with a green salad.
